this is a case of the Republican Conservatives wanting their cake and eating it too.
They want to elevate the elimination of terror to a war status (the War on Terror) which would necessarily include lowering of our own civil liberties to help in the cause, thus eliminating our freedoms, but they because they have used the word War, that would, by default, mandate that all prisoners captured in the "war" are "Prisoners of War", which would afford them certain rights.
So they have stated that these people are not deserving of a prisoner of war status, because they are "terrorists", not Soldiers. Is there a bit of double standard here. Your sense of fairness is a terrorist recruiters dream. YOU are aiding and abetting terrorists.
