BEIJING, March 29 (Xinhuanet) -- Anti-government protesters again took to the streets of the Yemeni capital Sanaa on Monday. The demonstrations come a day after embattled President Ali Abdullah Saleh scrapped an offer to step down by year's end.
During a TV interview Saturday, Saleh warned Yemen was "a ticking time bomb". He added that without him in power, the country would descend into civil war.
The formal withdrawal by the President, seems to indicate, that an attempt to negotiate a transfer of power to end the crisis has failed.
The protesters complain of corruption, the lack of jobs, and are seeking MORE political freedom. They're demanding President Saleh step down immediately.
